A bed may be the centrepiece of a bedroom, but it is the storage that decides whether the room feels calm or cluttered. A well-chosen chest of drawers and wardrobe can absorb clothes, bedding and everyday odds and ends, and free up floor space that would otherwise disappear under piles.
We have already looked at ottoman storage beds from Dream Home Store. This guide moves on to the rest of the bedroom: chests of drawers and wardrobes across five ranges, with sizes, materials and the prices on offer during the retailer’s Super Sale.

Measure Before You Buy
Storage furniture is only useful if it fits. Before choosing, measure the wall space and the ceiling height, and allow for skirting boards and radiators. Check the clearance needed for drawers to open fully and for hinged doors to swing, which is where sliding wardrobes earn their keep in a narrow room. It is also worth measuring the route in, although flat-pack furniture makes stairs and tight landings far less of a worry.
Chests of Drawers Compared
The Blythe range is the most affordable. The 3-drawer chest measures 60cm wide, 40cm deep and 60cm high, with drawers measuring 15 x 54 x 35cm, and is made from particle board with a melamine finish. It had a 4.9-star rating from 15 reviews. The taller 5-drawer version measures 70 x 40 x 100cm.
The Haven 4-drawer chest is a step up in materials, with 25mm MDF, an oak veneer top and UV paint, plus anti-tip fittings. It measures 83cm wide, 42cm deep and 95.5cm high.

The Flutrina 6-drawer chest is the statement piece. It is wide and low at 120 x 40 x 80cm, with 18mm MDF fluted fronts and metal legs, and comes in Black, Grey, White and Sage. Its width makes it a natural fit under a window or opposite the bed, where the top doubles as a dressing surface.

Wardrobes Compared
The Blythe double wardrobe is a compact 76cm wide and 176cm high, with a shelf and hanging rail, making it a good fit for a box room or a child’s bedroom. The Blythe 3-door wardrobe widens to 120cm and adds five side shelves and three adjustable shelves for folded clothes.

The Haven double wardrobe stands 186cm high and 98cm wide, with soft-close doors, anti-tip fittings and a magnetic lock. It matches the Haven chest of drawers if you want a coordinated look.

For a different style, the Industrial 2-door wardrobe in Oak Effect adds a drawer, along with soft-close hinges and anti-tip fittings, at 90cm wide and 185cm high. The Torvek 2-door sliding wardrobe is 120cm wide and 183cm high, with anti-tip fittings and six wooden legs. Sliding doors do not need clearance to open, so it suits rooms where the bed sits close to the wardrobe.

Flat-Pack Assembly Tips
Because everything arrives flat-pack, a little preparation makes assembly far easier. Unpack in the room where the furniture will stand, check the parts against the instructions before you start and keep fixings sorted in small containers. Wardrobes are tall and heavy once built, so assemble them close to their final position and have a second person on hand to lift them upright. Build on a rug or the flattened box to protect both the floor and the finish, and tighten fixings firmly but without over-tightening them in particle board or MDF.
Finally, organise from the inside out. Fold knitwear rather than hanging it so it keeps its shape, keep everyday items in the top drawers and move out-of-season clothes and spare bedding to the top shelves of the wardrobe.
Which Should You Choose?
- Smallest budget or room: the Blythe 3-drawer chest and Blythe double wardrobe come to about £226 together with the code.
- Best build quality: the Haven pieces use MDF with an oak veneer top and include anti-tip fittings, and the wardrobe adds soft-close doors.
- Most storage per wall: the Blythe 3-door wardrobe and Flutrina 6-drawer chest both span 120cm.
- Tight floor space: the Torvek sliding wardrobe avoids door-swing clearance altogether.
Whichever you choose, fix anti-tip hardware to the wall as instructed, particularly in homes with children.
Final Thoughts
Good bedroom storage does not have to be expensive, and with sale prices plus the EXTRA25 code, Dream Home Store’s chests and wardrobes start from well under £100. Measure carefully, decide whether you value price, build quality or capacity most, and match pieces within a range for a coordinated room.
