A seafood centrepiece is one of the easiest ways to make a festive table feel special, as long as the shopping is simple. Wright Brothers, the London seafood restaurant group that also runs an online fishmonger, sells a range of ready-to-assemble boxes for Christmas and New Year. They arrive with the key ingredients chosen for you, so you do not have to work out how many oysters or how much lobster to order.
This guide compares the main boxes on the Wright Brothers website, using the contents, serving sizes and prices shown on the product pages on 26 October 2026. Stock, prices and delivery dates can change, so confirm on the day you order.

Fruits de Mer Platters: The Showpiece
Wright Brothers is known for its shellfish platters in its London restaurants, and the Fruits de Mer boxes are the at-home version. You supply a large serving dish and a bed of ice, and the box supplies the shellfish. Most of it is delivered cooked and ready to eat, but the oysters are live and need shucking, and the mussels need cooking.
The Festive Fruits de Mer box, at GBP 136, contains a cooked lobster, a dozen fresh oysters, 1kg of live mussels, a 170g dressed crab, 900g of cooked frozen crevettes and a Wright Brothers oyster knife. The listing suggests it works as a sharing starter for four to five people, or as a feast for two or three.

The Deluxe platter, at GBP 140, swaps in 700g of raw frozen Scottish langoustines, which you cook yourself, and keeps the lobster, oysters, mussels, crab and crevettes. It is billed as a starter for six or more, or a main course for five or more. The Full House platter at GBP 125 is also listed for four to six people as a generous starter.

New Year Boxes: Oysters, Scallops and Lobster
For a smaller table, the New Year range is built around items that keep in the fridge until you are ready. The basic New Year Seafood Box at GBP 60 holds 900g of cooked crevettes, a 100g pack of long-cut smoked salmon, six scallops in the half shell, blinis and a 250g pot of creme fraiche. Unopened items can be kept in the fridge and used through the New Year period, according to the description.
Add a dozen Jersey oysters and an oyster knife and you have the New Year Oyster and Seafood Box at GBP 95. The page advises eating the oysters within three days of delivery.

At the top of the range is the New Year Oyster and Lobster Box, at GBP 170. Along with the oysters, scallops, crevettes and smoked salmon, it adds a cooked regular lobster and 20g of Baeri Royal caviar. A bottle of Wright Brothers Piper-Heidsieck Essentiel champagne can be added separately.

Smoked Fish and Oyster Gift Boxes
Not everyone wants shellfish. The Indulgent Christmas Smoked Fish Box, at GBP 80, includes a whole 800g side of smoked salmon, beetroot gravadlax, smoked mackerel pate, two smoked trout fillets and two sauces, hot horseradish and dill and mustard. A champagne version is available at GBP 128.

For a gift, the Oyster Gift Box with Muscadet at GBP 57.50 and the Oyster Gift Box with Piper-Heidsieck champagne at GBP 88 each contain a dozen unshucked oysters and a Wright Brothers oyster knife, plus a bottle of wine or champagne. The page says to keep the oysters in the fridge and eat only those that are tightly closed. Both are marked for adults aged 18 and over because they include alcohol.
How to Choose
- Feeding a crowd: the Deluxe Fruits de Mer platter is the one the listing sizes for six or more.
- Dinner for two: the New Year Oyster and Seafood Box has a dozen oysters, scallops and crevettes.
- Pure indulgence: the New Year Oyster and Lobster Box adds lobster and caviar.
- Non-shellfish eaters: the Indulgent Smoked Fish Box is built around salmon, trout and mackerel.
- A present: the oyster gift boxes arrive with a knife and a bottle.
Practical Tips Before You Order
Check the delivery dates for the box you choose, because some are available only for New Year delivery. Decide who will shuck the oysters and cook the mussels, and allow time for frozen crevettes and langoustines to defrost in the fridge. Wright Brothers also notes that fresh products can occasionally be substituted for a similar alternative because of weather or supply, and that it will tell you if that happens.
You can see the full range, including the restaurant menus and oyster masterclasses, on the Wright Brothers site.
