Most of us never think about insoles until our feet start to complain. Then the choice becomes confusing: flat or contoured, soft or firm, full length or trim-to-fit. This guide explains the main features to look for and then shows how the range from FitVille, a footwear brand with insoles starting at GBP 22, lines up against them.

Prices and product details below come from the FitVille insole pages as of 26 October 2026 and may change. The brand’s own claims are reported as claims. If you have foot pain that does not settle, see a podiatrist or your doctor before buying anything.

    What an Insole Actually Does

A shoe’s built-in insole is usually a thin sheet of foam. A replacement insole adds one or more of three things: cushioning to soften impact, arch support to hold the middle of the foot up, and a heel cup to cradle the heel and keep it centred. Which of these matters most depends on how you use your feet. A runner may want energy return, while someone who stands all day may want support and stability.

Four Features to Check Before You Buy

    • Arch support: the raised area under the middle of the foot. Brands describe different heights, so look for a stated figure or a flat-feet design if you have low arches.
    • Heel cup: a deep, U-shaped heel holds the heel in place. FitVille says its deep heel cup helps with stability and motion control.
    • Trim-to-fit: some insoles can be cut to size using guidelines printed on the base, which helps if you sit between two sizes.
    • Materials: foam such as EVA and PU gives cushioning, while a harder shell such as TPU adds structure. A mesh or fabric top layer helps airflow.

Keep in mind that a firm insole can feel strange for the first few days. A short break-in period is common advice from many brands, so build up wear time gradually.

The FitVille Insoles Side by Side

Arch Max V2, pack of 239.00High-density cotton and mesh, U-shaped heel cup, 55 gS to 2XL

One practical point from the table: the Stride and Arch Max listings are both sold as a pack of two, so check whether you are buying one pair or two before comparing prices with the single-pair styles.

    Everyday Cushioning: Stride and Rebound-Engine

If your goal is comfort in everyday shoes, start with the Stride at GBP 22. It is described as combining high-rebound PU cushioning with targeted support, with engineered mesh to keep feet dry. The Rebound-Engine V2 costs GBP 29.00 and uses EVA and a high-rebound foam for shock reduction, with a firm arch and a deep heel cup meant to provide stability. It can be trimmed to fit.

Support for Longer Days on Your Feet

The Orthotic Arch Support insole uses Exofoam and a breathable mesh top layer, with a cupped heel and targeted arch support. The brand says it is meant to help with plantar fasciitis, arch pain and metatarsalgia. The Plantar Fasciitis Relief Athletic insole is aimed at work boots and sports shoes, and the listing says it can be trimmed to size and fits trainers, casual shoes and basketball shoes.

The Breathable Orthopedic insole is the one to look at if heat is your concern. The listing stresses a soft, breathable fabric and a free-cutting design, with an arch section for balance. It comes in green or black.

For Flat Feet and Low Arches

The Arch Support Flat Feet insole claims a 3 cm arch support, a metatarsal pad and a U-deep heel. It combines hard TPU with EVA foam and is offered in sizes M to XXXL, which is a wider size spread than most of the range. FitVille says it suits men and women who stand, walk or run for long periods. The Arch Max V2 takes a different route with a high-density cotton and mesh build that weighs only 55 g, and a U-shaped heel cup the brand says helps with pronation and supination.

ZeroSole sits apart from the rest. Its listing is brief, promising customisable pain-free zones and describing the product as clinically proven for pain relief. Those are the brand’s claims, and the listing as it stands does not give the supporting study, so treat it as a claim rather than a guarantee.

    A Simple Way to Choose

    • Budget and everyday wear: Stride, GBP 22.
    • Active use and trimming: Rebound-Engine V2 or Plantar Fasciitis Relief Athletic, GBP 29 each.
    • Low arches: Arch Support Flat Feet, GBP 29.
    • Breathability: Breathable Orthopedic, GBP 29.
    • Lightweight support: Arch Max V2, GBP 39 for two.

Check your size chart carefully, because insole sizes are given in different ways across the range: UK shoe ranges for some and S, M, L labels for others. The brand’s product pages mention a 30-day return policy and say international orders can take 7 to 15 business days, with any duties or taxes the responsibility of the buyer, so read the terms for UK orders at checkout.

When you are ready, open the FitVille store and filter for insoles. If your main need is wide shoes rather than insoles, take a look at the FitVille wide-fit footwear as well.
